Keystone College’s softball team has earned its first-ever Easton/NFCA All-Academic Team Award, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 2016-17 team award winners.
The rankings recognize the academic prowess of collegiate and high school teams across the country.
To be considered for the award, a team must post an overall grade point average of 3.00 or higher during the entire academic year.
The Giants finished the 2016-17 academic year with an impressive 3.259 GPA to rank 104th in all of Division III.
Keystone was one of 125 NCAA Division III squads to earn the award and was one of five CSAC institutions to be recognized.
Fellow conference teams to also capture the award were Gwynedd Mercy University, Immaculata University, Marywood University, and Neumann University.
Keystone went 13-23 overall last spring, with an 8-14 record in conference play under the guidance of first-year head coach, Alison Ritter.
The Giants had eight players earn CSAC All-Academic Team honors for posting a 3.20 or higher grade point average during the spring semester.
