The Tunkhannock Area girls tennis team had its historic season come to an end after losing 5-0 at Wyoming Seminary Thursday afternoon in the opening round of the District 2 Class 2A Team Championships.
With the loss, the Lady Tigers finished the season with a 9-5 record for their best finish in more than a decade.
The No. 3 seed Blue Knights were able to handle the No. 6 seed Tunkhannock, losing just one set in the five matches.
Seminary advanced to the semifinals against No. 2 seed Holy Redeemer in a match that was scheduled to be played Tuesday, Oct. 10.
