The Tunkhannock Area golf team improved to 4-3 in Division 1 of the Wyoming Valley Conference by beating Coughlin on Monday and Wyoming Valley West on Thursday after losing to Dallas two days before.
After getting edged 160-163 by Dallas Tuesday (Sept. 5) at Shadowbrook Golf Course, the Tigers responded with a 179-221 win at Wyoming Valley West, then cruised past Coughlin, 172-202.
On Monday, junior Tyler Faux picked up medalist honors with an 1-over par 37 on Shadowbrook’s course.
Junior Dylan Mislevy was next in line with a 44, followed by sophomores Nick Budner and Cody Rondinella, who both finished with 45s.
Also for Tunkhannock, junior Trae Cole shot a 51 and sophomore Coby Gilpin finished with a 52.
At Irem Country Club on Thursday, Faux’s 40 on the par-36 took medalist honors, with Mislevy’s 42 not far behind to help lead the Tigers.
Rounding out the top four were Budner and Gilpin, who each finished the day with a 51.
At Shadowbrook against Dallas, Faux took medalist honors with the low score of the day with an even par at 37.
Also for Tunkhannock, Mislevy and Gilpin both finished with 41s, Budner shot a 44, Cole finished with a 46 and Rondinella chipped in with a 47.
With the wins, Tunkhannock improved to 10-4 overall for the regular season.
