The Elk Lake boys basketball team dropped to 1-2 of second half play Division IV of the Lackawanna League after losing two of three games last week.

The Warriors picked up a 68-61 win at Blue Ridge on Thursday, but lost 60-57 in overtime to Montrose on Saturday afternoon and 67-58 to Mountain View on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

With the losses, Elk Lake fell to 10-8 overall on the season.

Against Montrose, the Warriors fell behind 20-16 after the opening quarter before turning up the defensive pressure in the second quarter en route to a 15-4 run and 31-24 lead at halftime.

In the third, both teams scored 14 points before the Meteors turned the tables in the fourth, erasing a seven-point deficit that was capped with a game-trying 3-pointer with four seconds left in the game to force overtime.

Montrose then took the early control in overtime and was able to hold on for the win.

Senior Rierdan Reyan led the Warriors with a game-high 16 points, junior Adam Anderson chipped in a season-high 15 points and junior Nate Preston and senior Drew Arnold also hit double digits with 10 points apiece in the loss.

Elk Lake picked up a win in the junior varsity game, 30-19.

At Blue Ridge, Elk Lake trailed 19-14 after the opening quarter and erased two points from that deficit to head into halftime down by three.

In the third, the Red Raiders pulled back ahead and led by 10 with one quarter to go, but the Warriors turned things on in the fourth, fueled by six points apiece from Reyan and Arnold to help Elk Lake put together a 23-6 run for the win.

Reyan finished with a game-high 21 points, junior Nate Preson added 13 points, Anderson chipped in with a dozen and senior Kobe Jayne scored 10 points to lead the Warriors.

Against Mountain View, Elk Lake led 13-11 after one and headed into halftime clinging to a one-point lead at 22-21.
