While stores are closing all around us, Craig Keller made the decision to open a new service station with a soft opening Tuesday.

His D&C Fuel Sales station on the south side of Route 6, opposite Keystone Caps, opened with gas, diesel and non-food items only, with the hours set at 5 a.m.-9 p.m.

Keller said on Monday there was still an issue with DEP regarding water that does not allow him to sell foodstuffs, but he guesses that will change once DEP is fully operational once the governor’s orders to “stay at home” are lifted.

Keller said the D&C fuel prices east of Tunkhannock should be the same as the D&C store he has in Washington Township where gas sold over the weekend at 1.89 for 87 octane, 2.35 for mid-grade (89), and 2.57 for 93-octane.
