ANGELENA TATEM

A 38-year-old Tunkhannock woman faces at least five years in prison after pleading guilty Friday morning to drug delivery resulting in death.

Angelena Jay Tatem, of Maple Avenue, appeared before President Judge Russell Shurtleff in the Wyoming County Court of Common Pleas who said she could face a maximum of 40 years in prison depending on any other drug charges that may be a part of her past.

According to a criminal complaint, Tatem furnished fentanyl, a controlled substance, to Samantha Delesky, 20, who subsequently ingested the controlled substance which resulted in her death on Oct. 8, at her apartment in Mehoopany Township.

Investigators conducted a search of Tatem’s home for cellphones and any other evidence relative to the incident and she made voluntary utterances implicating herself in the sale of the controlled substance “that killed her.”

Tatem remains in the Wyoming County Correctional facility on $500,000 bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on Oct. 9.
