Tunkhannock Area senior Dyllan Henning will swim at states this week after being a part of the gold medal 200 free relay team, and the silver medal 200 medley relay team. Henning also climbed the podium at the CYC in WIlkes-Barre last week when he finished third overall in the breaststroke, and sixth in the 50 freestyle. In recognition of his achievement, Henning has been named the Wyoming County Press Examiner Athlete of the Week.

Superstitions or rituals: I have to put my left sock on first to start my day. If I accidentally put my right one on first, I have to take it off and start over.
When did you start you sport competitively? Seventh grade, and I also swam for the TigerSharks.
Favorite pool tocompete in and why? Tunkhannock because we have good blocks.
What is your favorite swimming memory? Last year, beating Dallas to stay undefeated and win the Conference championship.
What is your dream job? To run a successful business and make a lot of money.

Post-graduation plans: Most likely headed into the Air Force.
This will be your third time at States. What will be different? I am going for two events this time, but it also means a lot more this time because I ended up DQing us at districts after we were the first to finish. I am glad we get to be back, and that I was able to close it out.
Is there more pressure as a senior? No. I don’t get too worked up over things like that. If we all swim the times we can, the times we need, we will be good.
