On Wednesday, the Warriors dropped a heartbreaker in New Milford to Blue Ridge, 1-0.

Adam Roe’s sacrifice fly scored Gabe Waldowski with the game’s only run in the third inning to give Blue Ridge a Division IV win.

The Warriors stranded runners throughout the game, but couldn’t string any offensive threats together.

Jeff Zawiski allowed two hits with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings to earn the win. Zawiski was charged with four walks in the game, matching his season total coming into the game.

Matt Miller, with two hits, and Joe McAleer were the only Warriors to get a bat on the ball.

The next night, the Warriors were able to finally face Forest City after many delays from the weather, as well as team and field availability.

At Shautz Stadium, a turf field with lights in Dunmore, Elk Lake was blanked by the struggling Foresters, 6-0.

Alex Bradish recorded the only hit for the Warriors in the Lackawanna League Division IV game.

Elk Lake finished the season with a 6-11 record, putting them in sixth place in the Class 2A power rankings and fourth place in Division IV.

The Warriors faced the Meteors in Montrose on Tuesday, May 21, after this paper was published.
